BONUS – Andy Crofts talks The Resistance – his artwork to raise money for War Child – PLUS upcoming tour… Paul Weller Fan Podcast : Desperately Seeking Paul

Fans of Paul Weller will be well aware of Andy’s considerable talents as a musician & singer-songwriter with The Moons and the Paul Weller band – you may have also heard about fabulous photographic & film-making skills on Episode 67 of our podcast…

Growing up as an only child in Northampton, Andy was drawn into his own imagination and has also been painting and creating art his whole life. Now, the musician has set up an online auction for ‘The Resistance’ and is encouraging art lovers who connect with the piece to throw their support behind it.

All proceeds will go to War Child’s work with children affected by recent events in Ukraine.
Paul and his band has had many connections to the charity over the years from 1995’s recording of Help with Noel Gallagher and Paul McCartney for the Help album, to 2017s Brits Week gig at Union Chapel.

War Child says 10.7 million children in Ukraine are caught up in a terrifying, escalating crisis.
Many have been forced from their homes and have had to leave loved ones behind.
Desperate families are already stranded at the borders with just the possessions they could carry. Food, water and the means to stay warm could soon disappear.

The auction for The Resistance runs until Sunday 10th April 8pm – Check out the listing here

Andy Crofts said: “I watch the news all the time and wish I didn’t. I needed to do something as I constantly feel so helpless and keep seeing so much suffering.

I have played, with Weller, for War Child UK several times and applaud what War Child do, they are the only charity who specialise in protecting children in conflict, they get straight in and help, so I want to help them.

I painted ‘The Resistance’ with the plan to sell it and give the money to War Child, but the plans have grown as the immediate support and interest in this piece has been amazing.

We need your help to achieve maximum exposure to ensure that ‘The Resistance’ raises as much money as possible to help the children caught up in this appalling conflict. We are looking to find that one spectacular person who wants to help and loves the artwork.”

War Child UK

War Child UK is the only specialist charity for children affected by conflict.
For more than two decades they have been driven by a single goal – for no child’s life to be torn apart by war.
Your support means that they can provide life-saving aid when conflict breaks out, and stay to support children through their recovery – keeping them safe, helping them learn and cope with their experiences, and equipping them with skills for the future.
If you can’t bid on the artwork but would still like to support / donate then you can find out more information here
