Alan McGee has played a pivotal role in shaping the fabric of British musical culture , leaving an indelible mark on the industry. As the visionary founder of Creation Records, he introduced us to the bands that not only defined an era but became iconic in their own right. Hailing from Glasgow, McGee’s charisma and penchant for hedonism made him a legendary figure in the music world.
In the pages of Creation Stories, McGee unveils the intricate details of his journey for the first time. From his bold decision to leave school at sixteen to the establishment of the renowned Living Room club in London— a platform for emerging indie bands— and the management of the Jesus and Mary Chain, McGee’s story is a fascinating odyssey.
