Jon ‘Mojo’ Mills – Shindig! Magazine founder and Editor-In-Chief

Jon ‘Mojo’ Mills is the founder and editor-in-chief of Shindig!, one of the UK’s most respected independent music magazines, but his story with Paul Weller begins long before journalism.

Growing up in rural Hampshire, Jon discovered The Jam at the age of ten, became a ‘tiny mod’, and followed the journey through The Style Council and the solo years – often feeling slightly ahead of his peers, but always guided by the music.

In this wide-ranging conversation, Jon reflects on fandom, identity, and how Paul Weller’s restless creativity opened doors to new sounds, scenes, and ways of thinking.

We talk about his discovery of The Jam, the thrill of early Style Council gigs, mod culture then and now, and how Jon’s relationship with Paul gradually shifted from childhood obsession to professional trust – without ever losing the sense of awe.

An episode about music as a lifelong companion, and why Paul Weller still matters as much now as he ever did.
